SAFETY & BODY CONTACT CLINIC
14U+

This one-day Body Contact & Safety Clinic combines on-ice instruction with a comprehensive off-ice training program led by GForce Athletics, designed to teach proper body contact techniques while reducing the risk of injury.

The clinic focuses on the essential skills needed to safely give and receive contact, an increasingly important part of the game as players move into older age levels. Research shows that approximately 87% of hockey injuries are related to body contact, making early education and correct technique critical for long-term player safety and confidence.

On-ice instruction includes two hours of structured drills emphasizing body positioning, angling, balance, and controlled contact situations. Players will learn how to protect themselves, maintain control, and apply contact effectively within game-like scenarios.

The off-ice component, conducted in a gym setting, reinforces these concepts through stability, strength, and body-control training. Players will participate in controlled contact scenarios that challenge balance and posture, using demonstrations and video review to support learning. The emphasis is on “getting comfortable being uncomfortable,” helping players build strength, power, and stability while developing confidence in contact situations.

This clinic is designed for players ages 12–18 and is mandatory for players age 12 and up (moving into 14U). It provides a critical foundation for safe, confident play as athletes progress in the game.
