Sno-King has several qualified and pre-approved individuals that provide private skating/hockey lessons. Lessons are generally 30 or 60 minutes in length and typically occur during Public Skating or Stick & Puck sessions with the cost of admission for the skater an additional fee.  Please contact each coach directly for availability and rates. Hockey Coaches

Alexey Korobko

Coaching Experience: 4 years

Alexey helps players make the jump to the next level. He specializes in solving the unique challenges kids face in developing their skills — if there is an issue, Alexey has the answer. He works with players year-round to ensure consistent progress.

Doug Kirton

Coaching Experience: 23 years

Doug joined Sno-King in 2005, first as the Learn to Play Director and later as Director of Hockey. He oversees all of Sno-King’s player and coach development and is an avid supporter of USA Hockey’s ADM program and its emphasis on long-term development.

As a player, Doug attended Colorado College on a full hockey scholarship and graduated with a BA in History in 1990. He went on to a prominent professional career, including being drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 1986 and playing 10 years in Germany, where he earned several honors and awards. Doug is committed to the success of player development and has an extensive coaching background with many accomplishments:

Jamie Huscroft

Coaching Experience: 25 years

Jamie serves as the Director of Facilities at Sno-King Ice Arenas in Seattle, WA. After retiring from the NHL, he joined the Sno-King Hockey Association, where he helps lead the team in managing the arenas while also supporting hockey schools, camps, and clinics. He is grateful to stay connected to the game and to help the next generation of players grow.

Thomas Sommers

Coaching Experience: 5 years

Thomas specializes in working with adults who are newer to hockey and want to sharpen their skills with a clear, step-by-step approach. He also enjoys helping young players build strong skating fundamentals and healthy habits from the very beginning. His goal is to make the process focused, approachable, and rewarding.

Thomas is the Director of Maintenance at Sno-King Ice Arenas and a dedicated hockey player of more than 12 years. His path in the game began in an adult learn-to-play program, and through disciplined, structured practice he worked his way up to competing in the top divisions of adult league. That experience shapes how he coaches today.

Craig Pelissero

Craig develops the whole player athletically, academically, and socially. He builds players with skills, character, and confidence, learning what motivates them and using positive reinforcement to inspire growth. Craig coaches all positions, including forwards, defensemen, and goalies.

Craig grew up in Minnesota playing hockey through the collegiate level. He is not only a skilled player and coach but also a student of the game, always researching, studying, and learning the best ways to coach modern hockey and inspire his players.

Sam Bloomberg

Coaching Experience: 10 years

Sam played NCAA Division I hockey at Western Michigan University from 2012–2016 before beginning his coaching career with Victory Honda U16 AAA in Detroit. Since moving to Seattle, he has spent eight seasons as a goalie skills coach and has also served as USA Hockey’s Goalie Development Coordinator for Western Washington.

Sam is currently Sno-King’s Director of Recreation Hockey and works with goalies of all levels, focusing on building strong foundations and helping each player elevate their game.

Eric Grudzien

Coaching Experience: 13 years

Eric brings a special combination of playing and coaching experience. A former All-State Defenseman and Academic All-American, Eric played hockey in Michigan, where his competitive spirit and leadership on the ice were first shaped. He now brings that passion into a coaching career that spans 13 years, working extensively with girls teams.

Eric holds a USA Hockey Level 4 Coaching Certification and has led two teams to the Girls Tier II USA Hockey National Championships, while also helping develop elite athletes selected for the Pacific District Girls Development Camp and USA Hockey National Girls Development Camp. His coaching success reflects not just wins, but a deep commitment to nurturing talent and building confident, capable players. Known for his holistic development philosophy, Eric emphasizes both hockey IQ and character growth. His focus is on creating passionate players by teaching essential life lessons that translate directly to success on the ice — resilience, discipline, teamwork, and joy for the game. Eric is also a proud hockey dad to three daughters, all of whom play at Sno-King, further strengthening his connection to the program and its mission. He is Head Coach of the Sno-King 10U B Girls team for the 2025–2026 season.

Gunnar Goodmanson

Coaching Experience: 3 years

Gunnar was born and raised in a hockey-centric family and community. At 6 years old, he began playing in Buffalo, Minnesota, where he developed his skills alongside his brothers and peers. He captained both the hockey and golf teams in high school before playing junior hockey in the NAHL, appearing in over 110 games for the Kenai River Brown Bears, Brookings Blizzard, and Minnesota Wilderness.

At Augsburg University from 2017–2021, Gunnar excelled as a two-sport student-athlete in hockey and golf, contributing to two MIAC championships and NCAA tournament appearances. After college, Gunnar transitioned to coaching, leading the Buffalo (12U) Peewee AA team with insights from his extensive playing career. He learned that hockey is, at its essence, a game meant to be enjoyed, teaching him to balance hard work with fun. This philosophy of "Work hard and have fun" is what Gunnar brings to Sno-King and the growing hockey community in the Pacific Northwest.

Mac Barger

Mac learned to play hockey at Sno-King at the age of 4 and spent most of his hockey years there before going off to college. He has returned to Sno-King to pursue his lifelong passion for helping the sport grow.

Mike Parsons

Mike uses a motivational, “hockey is fun” attitude to connect with kids. He enjoys working with players of all ages and abilities who have the desire and willingness to improve their hockey skills. Some of his former players are currently playing junior hockey in leagues including the NAHL, USHL, BCHL, AJHL, NCDC, NA3HL, and USPHL.

Sam Wallace

Coaching Experience: 5 years

Coaching with Sno-King since 2020, Sam grew up playing hockey and now gives back to the hockey community through coaching. He works with the Rookies program, serves as a Skills Coach, and provides private coaching for individual players.

Jonathan Williams

Coaching Experience: 5 years

Jonathan grew up competing in youth and select hockey for both ice and roller hockey in San Diego, CA. He has coached multiple U10 and U12 teams at Sno-King and conducts skills development for players ages 10–18. He is dedicated to helping young athletes strengthen their fundamentals, build confidence, and grow their love for the sport.

Jonathan has played hockey since the age of 4. He also played ACHA club hockey before shifting his focus to college and career, while continuing to develop his skills and passion for the game.

Goalie Coaches

Steven Frank

Coaching Experience: 5 years

Stephen is originally from the East Bay of Northern California and has had a lifelong passion for hockey since first stepping on the ice at age 5. He played AA and AAA youth hockey, Junior A development post-high school in Montana, and with Gustavus Adolphus College in Southern Minnesota.

Stephen has been a goalie coach with SKAHA since 2022, and later joined as a Zamboni driver for the SKIS Renton facility. He has experienced every part of the rink as a player, coach, and member of the maintenance team.

Darin Campbell

Coaching Experience: 25 years

Darin grew up in Calgary, AB, and has served as the Goalie Director at Sno-King for 14 years. He is also the Goalie Development Coordinator for PNAHA and the Pacific District Goalie Coach-in-Chief for USA Hockey.

Darin leads as a goalie coach at the Western Regional High Performance Camp in Colorado Springs and serves as camp director for the Pacific District High Performance Goalie Camp.
