“Finding Winterland”

The North Pole is melting. Something has gone terribly wrong in Winterland! The icy wonderland is slowly being overtaken by… summer. Our cast of skaters must embark on a whirlwind journey to return Winter to its rightful place.

Information for Skaters

Group Rehearsals

  • Fridays
    • October 24 – December 5
    • 4:30pm-5:00pm (additional practice may be called)
    • No rehearsal: November 28
    • Level: Soloists
      • Must have a consistent axel and passes preliminary Skating Skills
  • Saturdays
    • October 25* – December 6
    • 12:00pm-12:30pm (additional practice may be called)
    • No rehearsal: November 29
    • Levels: Tots, Basic 1-Basic 6, Boys
  • Sundays
    • October 26* – December 7
    • 11:30am-12:30pm (additional practice may be called)
    • No rehearsal: November 30
    • Levels: Adults, Aspire 1-4

Soloist Requirements

  • Soloists will be selected and invited to perform based on level and competitive accomplishment during the past season
  • Soloists must have a clean Axel or be at a comparable ice dance level
  • Soloists must have passed a minimum of the Preliminary Skating Skills test to be considered.
  • All perspective soloists must register for the full show to participate in the group numbers, and fill out the registration intake form stating interest in performing a solo.
    • If selected, soloists will pay an additional fee of $60 which will be invoiced upon selection.
  • All music will be selected by the Director & Production team.
  • Costumes must be approved by the Director & Production team.
  • Choreography of your solo will be done by the in-house choreographer of your choice. Fees are separate to them & not covered by registration.
  • Costume, music, and choreography are integral to the production and must fit the story line to ensure a seamless, wonderful show!
  • Skaters may miss no more than 2 rehearsals
  • Group Costumes and commemorative t-shirt are included in your registration fee
  • Each participant will need to complete the required intake form and submit measurements during the registration process
  • Show Intensive Week
    • All groups will have rehearsal this week
    • December 8 – 13
      • Dec. 8: 5:45pm-6:50pm
      • Dec. 9: 6:00pm-7:00pm
      • Dec. 10: 5:45pm-6:50pm
      • Dec. 11: 5:15pm-6:50pm
      • Dec 12: 4:15pm-6:45pm
  • Full Dress Rehearsal
    •  Saturday, December 13
      • Approximately 9:30am-4:45pm
    • MANDATORY for all participants

Each year 4 up and coming skaters are chosen to perform a quartet together. Skaters from the previous legacy group will assist in selection.

The criteria for selection is more than just skating: Axel or Pre-Axel, shows great sportsmanship, a joyful attitude, hard work, perseverance, and is kind to all they encounter.

  • There is no additional fee for this group
  • Costumes will be provided

Participation in TOI number only is included in your season registration. If you wish to participate in the other numbers, you must register fully. You will use your regular rehearsal time TOI members must attend show week intensive & dress rehearsal.
